Evolution

From version to current state

The idea

Start with a simple question: Is this HSA eligible?

Search visibility

Search data began revealing the questions and topics people were actually finding.

Network architecture

Connect eligibility, guides, calculators, reimbursement, tax, and related HSA/FSA topics into meaningful paths.

Current state

A growing knowledge network being refined around stronger internal relationships, clearer topic hubs, and useful next steps.

What this project demonstrates

Build decisions, not just screenshots

Turn individual HSA questions into a connected information system that helps visitors move from an answer to the next useful decision. The useful evidence is in the decisions, the changes, the failures, and the next steps. This page is the evergreen map; the journal entries below preserve the chronological record.

92 Pages, 7 Topic Hubs: What Happened After I Connected HSAMaxGuide

After 8,739 impressions and 13 clicks exposed HSAMaxGuide's first problems, I stopped adding pages and rebuilt the site's information network around seven topic hubs. Here's what changed, and what I'm measuring next.

8,739 Impressions, 13 Clicks, and Why AdSense Was Never the Problem

Three sessions of HSAMaxGuide fixes, each one driven by real Search Console data: page-one rankings nobody clicked, a grammar bug on 17 pages, a www duplicate hiding 12 pages from the index, and the honest math on what the traffic was actually worth.

The HSA Question That Turned Into a Whole Guide

How building an HSA eligibility website taught me about search behavior, information architecture, connected digital experiences, and learning by building.

Building something in this space? This project is a real example of the kind of architecture and decision-support work I take on for client builds — not a template, structured around what the actual business needs.
